Introduction

This project, funded by the Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Funding Scheme for Tertiary Institutions with a grant of HK$76,749 in 2025, aims to promote awareness and understanding of the Constitution and Basic Law among students, academic and professional staff at local tertiary institutions.

It comprises three main components: the "The Basic Law Knowledge Quiz", "Constitution and Basic Law Slogan Creation Competition", and the "Constitution and Basic Law Awareness Campaign".

The quiz and the slogan competition aim to enhance students' understanding of the Basic Law and encourage creative expression related to constitutional values. The campaign focuses on raising public awareness and fostering discussions about the importance of the Constitution and Basic Law.

Overall, the project provides enriching learning experiences that deepen participants' understanding of the Constitution and Basic Law.

Project Content

Goals

This project aims to promote awareness and understanding of the Constitution and Basic Law among PolyU HKCC and PolyU SPEED students, academic and professional staff.

Objectives

The Basic Law Knowledge Quiz: To evaluate and enhance participants' understanding and knowledge of the Basic Law, fostering informed citizenship and civic engagement.
Constitution and Basic Law Slogan Creation Competition: To inspire creativity in promoting awareness and appreciation of the Constitution and Basic Law through catchy slogans.
Constitution and Basic Law Awareness Campaign: To raise public consciousness and deepen understanding of the Constitution and Basic Law.

Outcomes

Increased understanding of the Basic Law and Constitution among participants.
Enhanced civic engagement and strengthened community involvement and appreciation for the rule of law.

Activities

1. The Basic Law Knowledge Online Quiz

The Online Quiz Competition was held between August and September 2025, attracting participation from over 600 students.

2. One Country Two Systems & The Basic Law Slogan Creation Competition

The One Country Two System & The Basic Law Slogan Creation Competition took place between October and November 2025, with submissions received from 50 participants.
