PolyU CPCE Mentorship Programme

The PolyU CPCE Mentorship Programme was officially launched in 2004. It offers students the opportunity to venture beyond the classroom and learn from mentors who are senior executives or experts in diverse fields. The purpose of this programme is to facilitate the holistic development of mentees' educational, social, and personal growth. An experienced working professional will be assigned as your mentor. A series of activities, such as mentee training workshops, a welcoming ceremony, guest talks, outings, and an appreciation dinner, will be organised for you and your mentor throughout the academic year. By engaging in both formal and informal interactions with your mentor, your horizons will be broadened, and you will develop a more mature perspective on your future career, family and social life.

Our mentors have five or more years of work experience. They are from various sectors and hold a variety of positions, including directors, vice presidents, CEOs, HR managers, sales managers, hotel executives, IT managers, PR managers, government officials, accountants, surveyors, engineers, social workers, financial analysts, and university professors.

A Capella Ensemble

The A Cappella Ensemble aims to instil and ignite a passion for a cappella and singing in students.  By becoming a member of the Ensemble, receiving professional training, and being exposed to a range of topics concerning vocal a cappella performance, you will develop competence in the skill-based areas of ear training, sight singing and vocal percussion and become able to sing as part of a small ensemble with a professional level of vocal proficiency.  Most important, you will gain love and appreciation for music while on campus.

Ceremony Presenter Training

The Ceremony Presenter Training provides students* with the essential skills to host various events, both large and small, as well as major ceremonies for the College. Students will be given intensive training to polish their verbal and nonverbal communication skills, as well as the practical skills that will allow them to become professional masters of ceremonies (MCs) in all sorts of speaking scenarios in the future!

*Students will be selected by the project owners of individual student development activity projects. An MC training workshop, which can lead to actual hosting opportunities, may be offered sometime during the semester.

PolyU CPCE Student Clubs

The PolyU CPCE Student Clubs, launched in 2023/24, are established with the purpose of providing students with opportunities for extracurricular involvement and engagement. These clubs are designed to cater to specific interests or hobbies, enabling students to pursue their passions and explore new areas of interest beyond the classroom. Joining a Student Club offers a platform for students to connect with like-minded peers, engage in exciting activities, and acquire valuable skills and experiences. These clubs play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant and well-rounded student community in PolyU CPCE.
