Introduction


This project, funded by the Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Funding Scheme for Tertiary Institutions of the Education Bureau with a grant of HK$83,688 in 2024, aimed to promote awareness and understanding of the Constitution and Basic Law among students and staff at local tertiary institutions. 

It comprised two main components: the "Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Carnival" and the "All You Should Know About the Basic Law Competition". The carnival featured interactive activities and games, engaging a diverse group of participants, including academic staff and students. Meanwhile, the online quiz competition attracted widespread participation, effectively enhancing awareness and understanding of these important legal frameworks.

Overall, the project provided enriching learning experiences that deepen participants' understanding of the Constitution and Basic Law.

Project Content


Goals

  1. To promote awareness and understanding of the Constitution and the Basic Law among students.
  2. To create interactive learning opportunities for deeper engagement with constitutional principles and legal concepts.


Objectives

  1. To organise the "All You Should Know About the Basic Law" online quiz competition to facilitate learning through an interactive format.
  2. To host the "Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Carnival" to provide hands-on learning experiences.


Outcomes

  1. Increased Awareness: The project successfully raised awareness of the Constitution and Basic Law among students and staff.
  2. Engagement in Learning: The interactive carnival and online quiz attracted a diverse range a diverse range of participants, fostering greater interest in these legal frameworks.


Activities

  1. Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Carnival

    The carnival was held between November and January 2024, attracting around 10,000 participants, including both students and staff.

 

  1. All You Should Know About the Basic Law Competition (Online Quiz)
The online quiz competition was held between November 2024 and January 2025, attracting the participation of more than 450 students.
